The Doge’s Palace, a symbol of Venice and a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, overlooks St Mark’s Square and the city’s famous lagoon. Inside, visitors can explore historic rooms of great significance, including the Hall of the Great Council, the Hall of the Four Doors and the Hall of the College. The tour also takes visitors across the evocative Bridge of Sighs to the ancient New Prisons.
Palazzo Grassi
Palazzo Grassi was designed by the Venetian architect Giorgio Massari in the 18th century, commissioned by the Grassi family.
The building was purchased in 2005 by the French millionaire entrepreneur François Pinault to house his extensive art collection. The François Pinault Collection is now one of the world’s most important art collections.
Museo Guggenheim
The Peggy Guggenheim Foundation is based in Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, an 18th-century building overlooking the Grand Canal, in what was once the private residence of the American art collector Peggy Guggenheim.
The museum was opened in 1980 and consists mainly of works of art owned by the collector herself, as well as masterpieces from temporary exhibitions and collections; it houses works by some of the greatest artists of the 20th century, such as Pollock, Ernst, De Chirico, Chagall, Picasso, Dalí, Magritte and Miró.
The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is open every day from 10.00 to 18.00, except on Tuesdays and Christmas Day.
Venice Casino

With a history dating back to the 17th century, Venice is home to one of Europe’s most famous and prestigious casinos. - Pizzeria Al Quadrante – Just a short walk from the hotel, it offers a wide selection of pizzas and traditional dishes. Open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, for dinner only.
- Ristorante Ai Do Fogheri – Located about 300 metres from the hotel, it serves traditional cuisine, specialising in meat and fish dishes. Closed on Thursdays.
- Ristorante Da Mario – Located a short distance from the hotel, it serves international cuisine with a speciality in fish dishes. Open every day, except for Sunday lunchtimes.
- Caffè Concerto – Located about 4 km from the hotel, it stands out for its creative selection of meat and fish dishes. Closed on Sundays.
In Venice
For an authentic Venetian culinary experience, it’s well worth stopping off at one of the characteristic osterie or traditional bacari – typical venues where you can savour the famous cicheti accompanied by an ‘ombra’ of wine, in an informal and convivial atmosphere. Here are some recommended places to discover the flavours of Venetian tradition.
- Ristorante Giorgione – A typical Venetian restaurant that combines specialities from the islands of the lagoon with live music. The cuisine, which focuses mainly on fish and is inspired by local traditions, has been run by the Bisutto family for over 25 years.
- Osteria Garanghélo – Located in the Castello district, near the Arsenale and the Biennale, it serves traditional fish dishes and lagoon specialities in one of Venice’s most authentic neighbourhoods.
- Ristorante – Trattoria Da Cherubino – A traditional restaurant with a menu focusing mainly on fresh fish and Venetian specialities, popular for its welcoming atmosphere and excellent value for money.

Forte Marghera, Mestre (VE)
Forte Marghera is a historic 19th-century fortress set amidst lush greenery, now transformed into a vibrant cultural hub on the outskirts of Venice. The fort hosts artistic events, exhibitions, festivals and spaces dedicated to young people’s creativity, and is surrounded by a large public park ideal for walks and relaxation. San Nicolò, Alberoni, e Ca' Roman – Lido di Venezia and Pellestrina (VE)
The areas of San Nicolò, Alberoni and Ca’ Roman, situated along the Lido di Venezia and the island of Pellestrina, are three protected coastal areas within the Venetian Lagoon, forming part of the Natura 2000 network. Dunes, pine forests and coastal habitats are home to rare species such as the little ringed plover. Ideal for nature walks and birdwatching in unspoilt surroundings, these areas can be reached by vaporetto, bicycle or on foot, and offer a sustainable and fascinating alternative to urban tourism in Venice.
Oasi WWF Valle Averto, Campagna Lupia (VE)
A 200-hectare nature reserve in the Southern Lagoon, managed by the WWF. A wetland rich in biodiversity, home to over 200 species of birds. Access is by booking only, offering an immersive experience amongst reed beds, woods and lagoons. This lagoon environment is characterised by brackish waters, reed beds, hygrophilous woods and salt marshes, which are home to a rich variety of flora and fauna.
